A short history...
Known all over the world, thanks to the famous Château du Clos de Vougeot, former property of monks of Cîteaux and currently headquarter of the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin, Vougeot has a Gallic origin. Vougeot was the border between Eduens and Lingons and a tollgate was established there.
