A short history...
The name of Villers comes from "villa" and La Faye comes from "Foyard", name of the beech.
Overlooking the old commercial road, Villers-la-Faye equipped itself of a fortress in the 15th century, but the church was only built in the 19th century. Before, the Chapel of the Mont Saint Victor was used.
First lords of Villers were powerful and friends of Sires of Vergy and Dukes of Burgundy. All of them came there for huntings and good wines.
