A short story...
The origin of the name Meuilley is uncertain : it could be a wet place, or it could come from "muid", that means the wheat’s measure, as land is fertile. Other searchs maintain that "meuil-" comes from "manse", the medieval word to denote the houses with a vegetable garden.
Meuilley is the departure of the high valley of the Meuzin river, famous as a first category fishing river.
For a long time, an hospital for lepers was established in Meuilley. It disappeared when an Hospital has been built in Nuits.
