A short story...

The history of Gerland is really important because of the family of knights of Gillens, who was in the service of Dukes of Burgundy.

For a long time, Gerland was known thanks to some tileries, windmill, hunting in forest, and fishing activities in ponds.

Nowadays, we can admire some important properties, dating from gallo-roman or Cistercian periods, and developing a rural and forest activity : the farm of the old castle, Balon, la Chocelle, the Farm of "La Grange Route", and forest houses in the Forest of Cîteaux.

- The wash house
- Forest of Cîteaux
- Church (fresco of 13th and 15th century recently removed), font for holy water (13th century) and a statue of the Virgin of 15th century)
