 Blackcurrant
Near the great wines, among regional or communal appellation, premier and grand crus, a black pearl threads its way and makes the pride of Hautes-Côtes : the Blackcurrant.
Since middle of 18th century in Burgundy , blackcurrant has got a place now discreet, now primordial for local economy when phylloxera wreaked havoc.
Through years, its growing went up to the Hautes-Côtes or established itself in the plain and leaves the place in the Côte for vineyard.
Since early 20th century, blackcurrant is an important production thanks to the know-how of producers, liqueur makers, restaurateurs and confectioners.
Come and go all over the Route du Cassis by car, by bicycle or why not by foot and it will invite you to discover theses perfumed little berries and to learn its many uses meeting producers.
