Overlooking the Meuzin valley, the Chaux plateau is a windy by fertile land : blackcurrant, raspberry, fruit trees, cereals, vineyard took place in this casket lined by wood whith stony soil.
The location at more than 390 meter high allows a view on Saône plain. Sometimes, Mont-Blanc can be seen on the horizon.
During the 1870 War, the village of Chaux and woods arounds has been the theater of fights and were used as camp by Colonel Bourras ‘s franc-tireurs.
